We are a design consultancy specialising in product design to manufacture. Grown through the industrial hub of south Wales we’ve trained with the manufacturing giants and now utilise these skills to enhance our services. We’ve been designing, developing and manufacturing products for over 20 years. Time spent on production lines in hot sweaty moulding shops has given us the humility to design better products first time. For us time to market is important and we endeavour to get your products finished on time, on budget and fit for purpose.
We aim to provide a one stop shop service from conception to production and everything in between, or our services and expertise can be tailored to your exact needs. Whether its industrial design, product design, product engineering, or manufacturing we have the capability and experience to deliver.
Why oneninedesign? It’s simple, we recognise that the majority of projects start with an idea and take an average nine steps to realisation. One idea, nine steps to manufacture. This has become our philosophy and process which encompasses everything involved in taking your idea to market.
PRODUCT DESIGN
With over 60 years combined experience in product design we offer a full turn key product life-cycle.
We offer the aesthetic design, design engineering and manufacturing so the client has the ability to deal with us right through the design process and into manufacture.
With our in-house PCB design, we control the whole product design envelope which enables a totally optimised use of materials and minimised assembly time.
As you might expect we use the latest in CAD software and are constantly updating our knowledge database with new technologies to improve our service and expand our capabilities.
Our client base is incredibly varied and as individual as the products we design.
Our offices are in the Sony Manufacturing plant in Pencoed South Wales which offers our clients increased security and controlled access to anyone who wishes to enter (24-hour security).
PROTOTYPING & 3D PRINTING
Prototyping is an important step in the design and validation process.
3D printing is fast becoming the quickest and most accurate method for creating samples and functioning mock up products.
We recognise the importance of this so have invested in several commercial 3D printers each designed to allow for different materials and mechanical properties.
We also work closely with several prototyping houses in the UK and Asia to provide more specialist services such as vacuum casting, resin moulding and small batch production runs.
PACKAGING
As we aim to provide a one stop shop, we also offer a packaging design and supply service.
We’ve worked on many product packaging projects over the years from bottled cleaning products, to individual product boxes and master shipping cartons.
PCB DESIGN
We can provide full end to end electronics product design:
Schematic Capture & PCB Design using Altium Designer.
Microcontroller Firmware Development.
Product Approvals - EMC & Safety Testing.
Managing Prototype Builds.
Design Validation & Support Documentation.
Reverse engineering of existing products to deal with component obsolescence or the need for new features.
Working with our partners we also provide routes to UK-Based volume manufacture.
TOOLING
We have associate toolmakers in Asia that help us get our products to market quicker and on budget.
It's our goal to ensure you get the right tooling for your application and optimise the steel grades based on volumes and surface finish.
Most of our tools are shipped back to the UK for manufacture.
MANUFACTURE
With years of experience across the field we understand the requirements of taking a product from concept to manufacture.
With numerous contacts across the UK and in Asia we can cater to any project no matter how budget sensitive or quality conscious.
We understand no 2 products are the same and the path to manufacture can change, but with our design and engineering base we can provide a one stop shop, from developing the product to production tooling, material sourcing to creating assembly jigs and fixtures and managing the production process to ensure your entrance to the market is as seamless as possible.
